Tonya Smith-Turner serves as the Infection Control Practitioner and Nurse Educator, bringing a strong foundation in healthcare leadership, education, and patient safety to her role. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Tonya relocated to the area one year ago and has quickly become an integral part of the team.
Tonya holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Health Systems Administration. Her diverse educational background, coupled with her clinical expertise, enables her to effectively lead infection prevention initiatives, support regulatory compliance, and provide meaningful education and professional development opportunities for staff.
Passionate about creating a culture of safety and continuous learning, Tonya is committed to equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and resources they need to provide exceptional patient care. She values collaboration, mentorship, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on both patients and colleagues.
Outside of work, Tonya enjoys spending time with her family, reading and listening to books, attending concerts, and experiencing Broadway shows and live theater. She shares that she truly loves her role and feels privileged to contribute to the growth and success of the organization each day.
